Internships and Co-ops
When majoring in chemistry at Trine you gain hands-on experience in our laboratories on a daily basis. An internship can further enhance this experience by giving you training in a specific industrial setting. Below are a couple of examples of students that took advantage of internships.
Julia Nell (class of 2013) completed a six-week intensive program in nuclear and radiochemistry at the National Nuclear Chemistry Summer School at the Brookhaven National Laboratories in New York.
Adam Tuttle, a 2011 graduate, completed an internship with Univertical Corporation. Univertical generates a variety of chemicals that supply the plating and the printed circuit board industries. This internship not only gave Adam the opportunity to practice his lab skills, it strengthened his problem-solving, organization and time-management skills, as well. Now, after graduation, he is employed as a full-time chemist at Univertical.
