Requirements
A general engineering student will take the following courses:
First Year
Introduction to Engineering
Calculus I and II
General Chemistry I
University Physics I
English Composition I
Technical Communication
Social Sciences/Humanities
In addition to these courses, the student may take one or more of the following introductory courses in order to learn more about the particular engineering disciplines and help them in selecting an engineering major:
Introduction to Chemical Engineering
Introduction to Mechanical Engineering
Prototyping and Projects (Electrical and Computer Engineering)
Basic Surveying (Civil Engineering)
Second Year
The second year courses emphasize the engineering sciences, the fundamentals of engineering required for all engineers. Additional studies in mathematics and science are included in the second year.
Last Two Years
The last two years of all engineering programs involve the specialized courses that constitute the discipline, finishing with the capstone senior design project.
