The winter season is very cold (-6 to 8 degrees C) and snowy. Although, you should plan to pack lightly, you may wish to buy at least a few basic items before you leave home.

Miscellaneous Items
The international students of Trine University have started showing interest in sharing their culture. Some activities they have arranged include dinners, social get-togethers, International Night, and discussion groups. You may wish to bring items of cultural interest (such as photos, books, slides, musical instruments, traditional clothing, music, etc.) if there is any room in your luggage. Be sure to bring some recipes with you if you plan to cook traditional food! Also, please remember that most electronic outlets in the U.S. give 110-volt AC. If you plan to bring appliances from your country, make sure it is the same voltage or bring an adapter with blade-like prongs (not rounded).
What NOT to bring
For safety reasons, toasters, hotplates, candles, or anything with an open flame or exposed heating element are not allowed.
