Friendly Family Program

Your Home Away from Home...

At Trine University, we recognize that adjusting to college life and a different culture can be challenging for new students. To help, we would like to offer international students the opportunity to connect with a local family. In addition to your connections on campus (friends, family, staff), your friendly family will be a part of your support system - people who you can spend time with, or turn to, if you are in need of help or have questions.

Goals of the Friendly Family Program
Our goal is to provide you an opportunity to develop a support system with friends beyond the Trine campus. We also want you to to get acquainted with family life in the United States.

Possible Activities
Your family may invite you to join them for birthday celebrations, local festivals, concerts and lectures, special holidays, athletic events, and sightseeing. We also encourage you to share your customs, country, food, culture , etc. to them and possibly prepare a traditional meal for your local family.
