Meet your admission counselor

Admission counselor Sam Hartman hails from Fort Wayne, Ind., where he graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School. While there, you could find him in the gym just as often as the classroom, playing for the football, wrestling, baseball, bowling and men’s volleyball teams.

After high school, Hartman pursued business management and entrepreneurship degrees at Trine University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also participated in SIFE, SAAC, Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and was captain of the Thunder football team during its first 10-0 season.

Now, Sam tries to continue living the mantra of his fraternity: Sound mind, sound body. He enjoys running, swimming, biking, and wrestling with his German shepherd, Max.

His TV’s DVR tells us he enjoys watching the Atlanta Braves, Indianapolis Colts, “Franklin and Bash,” “The Office,” “Happy Gilmore” and anything related to Shark Week on the Discovery Channel.

When there are speakers within earshot of Sam, he is usually playing some sort of music.  The Zac Brown Band, Blink 182, Snoop Dogg and Jason Mraz are some of his favorite artists.

“I love the outdoors and Angola is absolute the best location to enjoy it all,” Sam said.  “Camping at Pokagon State Park, wakeboarding and fishing on the lakes, snowboarding in the winter — it is a small town with absolutely everything you could want.”
