Meet your admission counselor - Indiana

Jamie Morton, a Trinity Lutheran High School graduate, is from Seymour, Ind., the original “Small Town” and home of musician John Mellencamp. While at Trinity Lutheran she stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, softball, competitive cheerleading, choir, band and working on her family farm.

She carried her love of a full schedule with her to Trine University, where she joined Kappa Sigma Alpha sorority, became editor-in-chief of Trine’s student newspaper, was active in Student Senate, and played intramural volleyball and basketball. While working toward her bachelor’s degree in communication, Jamie’s favorite classes included public relations planning and campaigns and sports marketing and promotions.

In 2009, Jamie married her husband, Kyle, a Trine University civil engineering graduate. They recently settled in Indianapolis, along with their two boxers, Peyton and Roxie.

“I met my best friend – who was also my freshman and sophomore year roommate – and my future husband in my first week on campus, and it only got better from there. I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I had not chosen Trine University for my education,” Jamie said.

These days you can find Jamie playing co-ed softball, playing in an all-female basketball league and coaching high school cheerleading. When she has time to sit down and watch TV you can bet she’ll be watching “One Tree Hill,” “True Blood,” “The Big Bang Theory” or “How I Met Your Mother.” Jamie’s music pre-sets in the car will show you she listens to a little bit of everything, but her favorite musician is Taylor Swift.
