Thunder Women's Golf Coaching Staff
Head CoachVan Brandt Van Brandt begins his second season as head coach of the women’s golf program that finished fourth in the conference last season. Brandt served the previous three seasons assisting with the men’s program. Van played collegiate golf at the University of Toledo. His senior year he served as captain of the golf team and achieved Academic All Mid-American Conference honors. After college he participated in the PGA Winter Tour and qualified for the National PGA Club Professional Championship and the Nike Cleveland Open. He continues to improve his skills while playing in events sponsored by the Northern Ohio PGA. Van is a Class A member of the PGA. He has been instructing golf since 1989 providing students of all ages and skill levels with a quality learning experience to assist them in having more fun playing golf. He has served as the Head Golf Professional at Mohawk Golf Club located in Tiffin, Ohio and Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. He currently is an instructor at the Claire Batista Golf Academy in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. Van has been very active in junior and college golf. He has been an assistant coach at the University of Toledo and Heidelberg College. Also, he has given his time to assist the various high school programs in the surrounding areas. |
