Just about all foods soul will be served up from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, for the Soul Food Fest in Whitney Commons. The extensive menu includes Tennessee fried chicken, fried catfish, macaroni and cheese, slow-smoked Memphis brisket with assorted sauces, fried okra with remoulade sauce, deep south gumbo and an assortment of appropriate sides. Try to save room for dessert: Pecan pie, banana pudding, peach cobbler, red velvet cake and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.
During dinner, local musician Chris Worth will perform a mix of smooth R & B, snazzy jazz, rhythmic hip hop and more.
Cost is $10.80 plus tax for guests, $8.50 plus tax for faculty and staff, and $5.40 plus tax for children age 6 to 12.
