General Information

Trine University has hired a video crew to capture all the memories of Commencement 2024, from the opening procession to the closing remarks. The ceremony will be live-streamed for family and friends.

Diplomas are printed with the title of the degree, and not with the name of the major or minor. Some degree titles include an area of study, and many do not. Three examples of degrees are: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science. You may view your exact degree title, major, and minor on the pdf version of your transcript available on myPortal. If you would like additional information, please contact the Registrar’s Office.

Students may choose how they want their name on the diploma. Most students use a middle name or middle initial, but this is not required.

Once all holds are removed, all diploma information will be emailed one to four weeks after degree completion. Watch your Trine email address for details. The email with your digital diploma will come from Parchment.com

Physical diplomas will be mailed approximately one month after the end of the last semester.

Students will not receive diplomas if they are ‘on hold’ with any University Office. Once all holds are removed, please contact the Registrar’s Office to request the mailing of your diploma.

Invited undergraduate students will be honored in the ARC on the Angola campus, on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 5 pm. Student line-up will be at 4:30 pm in Hershey Hall. Business attire is requested. There is no limit on guests for this event.

Caps and gowns are navy. If you have not yet purchased your cap and gown, please place your order by May 2, 2024.

Online orders placed on March 3 or after should be ordered from https://www.bkstr.com/trinestore/shop/graduation

If you pre-order your cap and gown at Senior Salute or online, they may be mailed to your home address or picked up the day of the commencement in Hershey Hall. If you have questions regarding your order through the bookstore, please contact the bookstore at 0300mgr@follett.com. For help with orders from Jostens, call 1 800-854-7464.

Regalia distribution for DPT students will be coordinated by the College of Health Professions.

Commencement cords and stoles are limited to those awarded at Honors Day. You are invited to decorate your cap for the occasion.

The Office of the Registrar provides official transcripts for Trine/Tri-State University students and alumni. To request an official transcript you will need to create an account through the Parchment website.  You will enter your unique credentials for verification on Parchment. 

Students may order transcripts in their last semester and mark “Hold for Degree.” This marking will allow the Office of the Registrar to send the final transcript with earned degree information and grades after all information is posted, approximately one week after the end of the term. 

The cost for transcripts is $10 each for digital or paper transcripts. Additional fees may be added for expedited shipping.

Trine University has contracted GradImages to take individual pictures. Proofs will be sent to each graduate, with no obligation to buy. Register at gradimages.com/registration by May 3, 2024 to automatically receive a coupon for 20% off your purchase of $50 or more.

On Commencement day, all drivers must enter campus using South Darling Street. Graduates will be directed to designated parking.
