Main Campus Honors Day
Each academic school will be hosting an honors program. If you are requested to attend, you will receive information from your school. If you have questions about attending, please contact the person listed below. Dates, times and locations of these events are also listed below.

SPS Honors Day
SPS Honors Day will be held on Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m., in Fabiani Theatre.

Graduates receiving honors will be the participants, with their families, guests, and friends invited to attend in support of the graduates′ accomplishments. Award recipients should dress in cap and gown and plan to arrive 30 minutes early to line up for the procession in the Link, the first floor of the library in the University Center. At the Link, name cards will show your place in line and recipients will line up for the procession.

Latin Honors - Main Campus and SPS
For undergraduate students, Latin Honors will be printed in the commencement program based on your current standing. A cumulative GPA is required as outlined below. In addition, a minimum of 40 credit hours must have been earned from Trine by the end of the spring semester. If your academic status changes from that printed in the program, your diploma will be printed with the correct recognition. Graduate students are not eligible for Latin Honors recognition.

  • Cum Laude 3.500-3.749
  • Magna Cum Laude 3.750-3.949
  • Summa Cum Laude 3.95-4.00

Commencement Practice
The best way to make an event run smoothly is for all participants to know what is expected. This is why commencement practice is so important.

When: Friday, May 2 
Time: 4:30 p.m.
Where: Fabiani Theatre, Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center

We will meet in the theatre for a few announcements. Students will then line up in the hallway, name cards will show where you should stand in line. Once everyone is in line, we′ll march to the stadium and sit as we will on Commencement Day. We will then go through the program and answer all your questions.

Senior Celebration
You are invited! Trine University is hosting a Senior Celebration for graduating seniors and guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, in the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC). The Senior Celebration is FREE for graduating seniors. Tickets for family members and guests cost $12 each. This evening includes delicious food, live entertainment and a cash bar. Casual attire is encouraged. Please make your reservation by Friday, April 25. Call 260.665.4168 or email werling@trine.edu.
