Kiwon studies and teaches all "walks of life"B.S., Inha University, Incheon, South Korea; M.S., Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; Ph.D., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign I have always had a strong desire to teach at the college level. This has been one of the main reasons I pursued my doctorate degree. I truly enjoy sharing with others the experience of learning and growing intellectually. My doctoral studies focus on the dynamical/biomechanical analysis of walking and on the development of a new technique to characterize coupled joint patterns in the human gait. I have used dynamical/biomechanical tools to examine functional gait performance and slip/trip/fall risks that challenging walking conditions pose for various population groups such as firefighters and Parkinonian patients. I enjoy swimming, playing table tennis, baseball, basketball and golf, and watching football. I also enjoy spending time with my two children, Aaron and Andy. |
