Trine offers four-year graduation
guarantee to incoming freshmen

ANGOLA, Ind. – Graduate in four years or tuition is free for the fifth year; that's what Trine University is guaranteeing its class of 2017. University officials adopted the plan because the cost of higher education is a top concern for students and their parents.

Incoming freshmen who wish to commit to the plan are asked to sign an application within two weeks of starting fall classes.  To qualify, freshmen must be full-time students who are committed to earning a degree in no more than four years or eight semesters. An academic advisor assigned to each student will help the student develop a four-year academic plan. Students and academic advisors will meet one-on-one each semester to ensure adequate progress to meet the four-year commitment.

A highlight of the guarantee is Trine University's pledge to annually increase the merit scholarship for each qualifying student.

"I'm pleased that merit-based scholarships will go up each year for qualifying students as this is something I have wanted to do for a long time," said Kim Bennett, assistant vice president for Retention and Financial Aid. "Students and their parents can be assured that advisors will help students stay on track to graduate in four years, and that each year the merit award will increase by $500 – that's a $1,500 increase while the student's earning a degree at Trine."

Each incoming freshman this fall is eligible for the guarantee. Potential students seeking more information about the four-year guarantee or Trine should contact their admission counselor at 800.347.4878 or 260.665.4100.
