Heading to the 'Land Down Under'

Student selected for prestigious study-abroad scholarship

ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University will be represented in the “Land Down Under.”

Trine University junior informatics major Sara Matlack was selected as a Bond University Scholar for the September 2011 term through Bond University in Australia.

“This is indeed an excellent program for study abroad students, and I am thrilled to advise that Trine University is represented among this group of scholars,” said Adam Seid, M.Ed., manager of AustraLearn Semester/Year Abroad Programs.

Offered for the first time in 2007, the Bond Scholars Program offers a unique opportunity for high achieving students to join a special cohort of students who will participate in specialized seminars, professional workshops, guest lectures and meetings with the Vice Chancellor.

“Sara’s initiative and decision of attending Bond University in Australia was an accomplishment that put her in an elite group of only 2 percent of U.S. students of higher learning institutions that study abroad,” said Haseeb Kazi, Ph.D., Trine’s director of study abroad.
