Trine's masters in leadership online is
one of 'best affordable' in country
GetEducated.com ranks program
No. 8 in the United States
ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University’s online masters in leadership program has been ranked No. 8 among 32 accredited online degree programs in the United States on GetEducated.com.
Trine’s Master of Science in Leadership, offered to those with a bachelor degree, requires one year for completion. It was first offered in 2010 and has 10 areas of concentration.
“Trine launched the online masters in leadership program in response to student interest and regional demand for employees with training in organizational management,” said Kelly Trusty, program director. “The doubling of concentrations from five to 10 shows Trine’s pledge to offering in-demand, quality educational experiences.”
Concentration areas are athletic administration, international studies, nonprofit organizational studies, strategic foresight and entrepreneurship, sustainable business administration, healthcare systems studies, biomedical regulatory affairs, instructional leadership, instructional leadership-higher education, and political leadership and civic engagement.
“Our program is geared toward working professionals, and reflects Trine’s commitment to making quality education affordable,” said David Wood, dean of the School of Professional Studies. “We’re excited to be nationally recognized for our efforts.”
The online master’s degree rankings were calculated by analyzing and comparing tuition and online learning fees at 32 regionally accredited universities in the nation that offer 35 different online masters for students interested in leadership, according to Get Educated, a consumer group that reviews, rates and ranks online colleges and universities along the dimensions that it finds matter most to consumers: cost and credibility.
To appear on the Get Educated affordability ranking list, the online masters profiled must objectively fall below the average cost – $23,903 – of all the online masters degrees surveyed in the national data set.
The online university degree rankings are based on a fall 2011 survey of regionally accredited institutions that offer a master in leadership.
“Trine’s program is indeed affordable (compared to the national average), especially when one factors in discount programs for individuals who are affiliated with nonprofit organizations, Chamber of Commerce or select partner institutions,” Trusty said.
