Social Media Usage Guidelines for:

Public (Non-Employee)

 

We encourage you to use our social media as a way to connect with other Trine University audiences around the world, to network, and to share resources and information of interest to the Trine University community. The success of the online communities depends on your comments and participation, so make yourself at home!

The Trine University Brand & Integrated Marketing Department, along with individuals responsible for maintaining Trine’s social media monitors posts and comments on a regular basis. Please be aware of our guidelines when participating.

  • Respect Others

Sexist, racist, and other discriminatory comments or images will be removed immediately. Users are free to discuss topics and disagree with another, but please be respectful of others’ opinions.

  • Keep It Clean

Do not post offensive, suggestive, obscene or sexually explicit language or photos. Do not post or allow photos, videos, or comments with the intent to hurt or damage personal image. Such posts will be removed immediately.

  • Keep Your Contact Information Personal

For your own safety and security, please refrain from posting personal contact information (home phone numbers, mailing addresses, personal email addresses, etc.).

  • Don’t Spam

We encourage you to use the social media communities/networks as a platform to share information about you, your work, achievements, activities, etc. However, commercial advertisements, solicitations and promotions are not allowed.

  • Stay on Topic

We encourage open discussion among audiences; however, postings that are deemed irrelevant to the Trine University community may be removed at our discretion.
