Exercise Science is an innovative hands-on program where students design strategies to improve mobility, nutrition, physical activity, and health for all age groups. Trine is unique with courses on global health, capstone research and internship placement on a national scale. Trine's affiliation with the American College of Sports Medicine further emphasizes professional connection with conference attendance and engagement with the student organization. Students have the option to pursue pre-physical therapy as an Exercise Science major.
Each student will become immersed in healthy living projects. Trine students have worked with the National YMCA project titled "Active Science" helping students apply behavior change theories and exercise strategies to improve STEM scores. Trine's internship connections have fostered relationships at the Olympic Training Centers in sports performance and coaching and clinical hospital settings for pre-physical therapy experience.
The Exercise Science program delivers results. Graduates have enjoyed careers in physical therapy, athletic training, sports performance, coaching and fitness. Salaries range from $40,000 to $60,000. Careers in the health-related field are on the rise. This is a growth segment for the next decade due to the increase in the senior population and life expectancy on the rise.
