Requirements
The Informatics program curriculum requires the completion of 120 hours of course work including the completion of a minor in a cognate area. The average course load is 15-16 hours based on eight semesters.
In the degree program description that follows, an asterisk (*) indicates courses that satisfy Trine University’s general education requirements.
Bachelor of Science – Informatics Major - 120 hrs.
*Written & Oral Communication – 9 hrs.
*Social Science & Humanities – 18 hrs.
*Mathematics & Science – 19-20 hrs.
*Health & Physical Education – 2 hrs.
*Freshman Studies – 1 hr.
Informatics Core – 36 hrs.
Cognate Area/Minor – 24-27 hrs.
Informatics students are encouraged to consult with their advisor to choose a minor that is appropriate to their career plan.
Electives – 4-8 hrs.
(Electives are determined in consultation with an advisor and based on student career objectives.)
