The Mathematics Major Curriculum
The curriculum requires the completion of 120 hours of course work. The average course load is 15-16 hours based on eight semesters. In the degree program description that follows, an asterisk (*) indicates those courses that satisfy Trine's general education requirements.
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics – 120 hours
*Communication – 9 hrs.
*Humanities & Social Science– 12 hrs.
*Mathematics & Science – 10 hrs.
*Other - 11 hrs.
Mathematics Core – 38 hrs.
Directed Electives – 22-26 hrs.
General electives– 13-17 hrs.
Freshman Studies – 1 hr.
(Electives are determined in consultation with an advisor and based on student career objectives.)
