Steps to Apply
Ready to experience a Higher Education?
Follow these easy steps:
Step 1
Apply for graduate admission
Step 2
Apply for a PIN with the U.S. Department of Education, or
request a duplicate PIN if you had one as an undergraduate
student at www.pin.ed.gov.
Step 3
Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Trine University School
Code is 001839.
Note—FAFSA can take up to seven business days after
completion to be received by Trine
.
Step 4
Complete the admission process and begin the registration process.
Step 5
Once registration is completed and a FAFSA is received and
clear of any edits, a financial aid award letter will be sent based
on the number of credit hours in which you enrolled.
Step 6
If you are selected for verification, you will be required to submit
additional documentation to our offices before any aid can
disburse to your student account.
These items are:
- Signed verifcation worksheet
- Completed signed federal taxes for the year that you reported on
the FAFSA. - Any additional items that are needed to accurately verify the
FAFSA data
Step 7
Notify the Office of Financial Aid if you are receiving any
company reimbursement for the graduate courses and amount
for which you are eligible.
Step 8
Sign and return your award letter to the Trine Office of
Financial Aid.
Step 9
Stafford Loans—You will need to complete a MPN
(master promissory note) and go through entrance
counseling, all of which can be completed online
Step 10
Student loans will be processed and set to be disbursed to your
student account in two equal installments.
Step 11
If you have excess Stafford or GRAD PLUS loan proceeds
on your student account and you are attending all of your
graduate classes then you are eligible for a refund of
the excess. Complete the refund request form online.
