Meet Roman Smith
Opportunities to tell prospective students and inquiring parents what makes Trine
University a special place to learn and prepare for life is a great job for Roman
Smith, an admission counselor at Trine and a 2014 exercise science major.
"What I enjoyed most as a student at Trine was the lifelong friends I was able to make and the memories made with those friends during my four years at this great university," Roman said.
Roman, a Geneva, Ind., native, can also provide an inside scoop on life as a student-athlete
and the Greek life. Like many Trine students, he participated in intercollegiate athletics,
including two years on the Thunder football squad and two years in track and field.
He was also active with Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and was a member of the Exercise
"I enjoy living a healthy lifestyle, but I also admit to being a doughnut connoisseur," he said. His healthy lifestyle includes weight lifting, running, golfing, biking, yoga and CrossFit – enough activity to burn off the calories from the occasional doughnut he savors because he's passionate about proper nutrition, too.
He's also an avid sports fan who cheers for Thunder teams and follows the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kentucky Wildcats and New York Mets – a team for every season.
Whether working out or relaxing, if Roman's using ear buds, he's likely listening to music in the alternative, rap, hip hop or country genres.
If you have a question about Greek life, Trine athletics or most anything else Trine, get in touch with Roman. He can also point you to the best doughnuts in town based on his careful taste-testing.
