Teaching about energy gives Brett the inside track on energy efficiency.B.S., M.S., Ph.D. Iowa State University, Ames Iowa After earning my doctorate, I worked for Compressor Controls Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa. I then taught thermal systems courses at Iowa State University as an adjunct professor. After that, I became involved in all aspects of patent prosecution and technical consulting at a law firm in Des Moines. I have been at Trine University since fall of 2006, teaching courses in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, measurements and gas turbines. I was awarded the Steve and Mary Yacynch McKetta Excellence in Teaching Award in Engineering the first year I was eligible. During the summer I work as a patent consultant. As we heat our home with wood, I cut most of that during the summer from our own timber. I enjoy vegetable gardening. Spending time with my family is also very important to me. |
