Guest speaker scheduled

The Trine University Office of Student Life, Athletic Department, BACCHUS and the National Collegiate Athletic Association will bring internationally known sex educator Jay Friedman to the university to speak to the campus community on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. as one of the activities associated with Healthy Relationships Week. His lecture, entitled “The J-Spot: A Sex Educator Tells All,” will be in Fabiani Theater.

Friedman's lecture will entertain while educating his audience about important and timely sexuality issues. The presentation is Friedman’s newest, and has been described by a reviewer as poignant, powerful, playful, and provocative. “My performance is at times personal, philosophical, political and prophetic,” Friedman said. “The storytelling, the cultural observations, the predictions—they’re all relevant to the students’ lives, getting them to perk up, laugh a lot, and also learn.”

Friedman has been nominated Lecturer of the Year multiple times by the National Association for Campus Activities. An award-winning writer featured in a number of national publications, he is a former disc jockey and host of a radio talk show on relationships. Based in Seattle, Friedman travels campus to campus to share his insights.
