Two free concerts scheduled
Jazz bands, Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir tuning up
Feb. 18, 2010--Trine University musicians will offer two concerts for the enjoyment of the university and local communities.
Trine’s Three O’Clock Jazz Band and Four Thirty Jazz Band will perform a concert in the University Center’s Fabiani Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 27 beginning at 3 p.m. Selections by Chicago, the Blues Brothers, Count Basie and other musicians will be played.
The university’s Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir will present a concert at Fairview Missionary Church, 525 E. C.R. 200N, Angola, on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. The Wind Ensemble will perform music by Holst, Grainger, Holsinger and Beethoven, as well as music from the soundtrack to “Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.” The Concert Choir will sing a wide variety of songs, from spirituals and an African alleluia for Black History Month, to lighter works like “Danny Boy” and “Cold and Fugue Season.”
