Trine hosting first NCAA national contest

Women's golf will play at Zollner

 

July 1, 2010--For the first time in school history, Trine University will host an NCAA national championship.

The NCAA announced today that Trine will host the 2012 Women’s Golf National Championship. The championship is tentatively scheduled for May 8-11 or 9-12.

This will mark the sixth time overall Thunder Athletics has hosted a national championship. As an NAIA program, the Thunder hosted the 1987, 1990 and 1992 Men’s National Golf Championships. Hershey Hall was the venue for the 1996 and 1997 Women’s Basketball Division II National Championships.

Trine also hosted the Division III Midwest Wrestling Regional in 2009.
