Trine Health Center opening
Facility is partnership with Parkview Health
A partnership between Parkview Health of Fort Wayne and Trine University will provide an Angola campus medical center for the university’s students and staff beginning fall semester.
The Trine Health Center is located at central campus for easy access. The center will provide a mid-level medical professional, such as a nurse practitioner, to diagnose, treat and prescribe medicines for most common medical conditions. Patients with acute or chronic conditions will be referred to local physicians or healthcare facilities.
“We are extremely excited and pleased about this new partnership with Parkview Health,” said Trine Dean of Students Randy White. “The health center supports an overall campus wellness initiative that will involve instructors in our new exercise science major and lab. Parkview Health will be instrumental in assisting the university in implementing this campus initiative. The center also emphasizes our vision to provide the healthiest possible environment for our students, and opens in tandem with a new Office of Student Life program emphasizing choices that lead to healthy living.”
“Parkview is pleased to be partnering with Trine University to provide medical services for students and faculty,” said Mark Nafziger, chief operating officer for Parkview Health. “The new on-campus medical clinic complements Parkview’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve. We look forward to a positive partnership with Trine, and are excited to continue to provide needed services in northeast Indiana.”
Parkview Health is a not-for-profit, community-based health system that serves northeast Indiana, western Ohio and southern Michigan.
