Trine hopes to break record at Alumni & Friends Golf Outing
ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University is hoping to break its $72,000 fundraising record at its 22nd annual Alumni & Friends Scholarship Golf Outing, which will be Aug. 3 at the university’s Zollner Golf Course. A few spots are still remaining, but expected to fill quickly.
“Last year, we channeled our proceeds into the $19 million the university gives in academic and need-based aid for students,” said Trine president Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D. “The generous contributions we receive from our alumni and friends continue to give deserving students opportunities to earn a respected degree from this premier institution.”
The day includes 18 holes of golf, cart, continental breakfast for the morning flight, lunch, dinner, refreshments, range balls, team photo and an individual gift.
Morning flight registration and continental breakfast will begin at 6:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. All players will enjoy a lunch buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The afternoon flight registration will begin at noon, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner will be designed by the head chef from Bon Appétit.
Awards will be given to the first, second and third place teams, last place team, longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt made. A 50/50 helicopter ball drop will follow dinner with one lucky guest winning a cash prize.
The cost is $125 per person. The deadline to register is July 27.
Metal Technologies Inc. is the main event sponsor. The company’s chief executive officer, Rick James, is a Tri-State University alumnus, engaged trustee and avid supporter of the university.
The university thanks individuals and companies that have already committed to sponsoring the event.
