Trine moves up in rankings

Trine named one of Midwest's best

Fast upon the heels of this month’s Best in the Midwest ranking by The Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Trine University among best Midwestern Regional Colleges in its 2011 edition of America’s Best Colleges.

Trine is ranked 32nd among Midwest institutions which focus on undergraduate education, but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines.

U.S. News & World Report gathers data from each college for up to 15 indicators of academic excellence. Each factor is assigned a weight, and the colleges in each category are ranked against their peers, based on their composite weighted score.

Weighted factors include an assessment by peer administrators; graduation and retention rates; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; and alumni giving. The indicators reflect a school’s student body, faculty and financial resources, and outcome measures that signal how well it educates students.
