'Big Bang Theory' meets Trine
when rocket scientist visits Nov. 14

Greg Meholic has worked on more than 40 successful space launches

ANGOLA, Ind. – An expert in advanced space propulsion who could likely blend in with the gang on “The Big Bang Theory” will be on Trine’s campus Nov. 14 to talk about advanced space propulsion.

Greg Meholic, a project engineer at Aerospace Corp. who has worked on more than 40 successful space launches and holds four patents in pulse detonation engine technology, will focus on advanced space propulsion concepts for interstellar travel when he visits Trine.

“Mr. Meholic is well known within the aerospace community as an expert on both advanced space propulsion concepts and current propulsion concepts. He is a true rocket scientist and will provide everyone in attendance with an understanding of the possibilities for interstellar travel,” said Jamie Canino, Ph.D., of Trine’s Wade Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the department hosting Meholic’s visit.

Meholic’s presentation will begin by examining a few of the reasons why humans should explore the heavens beyond the bounds of the solar system. And, it will conclude with some inspiring conclusions and hopefully instill the belief that mankind will someday move beyond the bounds of our solar neighborhood.

 Meholic, who boasts numerous awards for best presentation at technical conferences, will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Fabiani Theatre, Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center. The event is free.
