Trine Middle College partnering with Bellmont High School
Bellmont High School students can earn college credit
ANGOLA — Bellmont High School students will have the opportunity to start earning college credit in their high school classes beginning in the spring of 2011.
Trine University Middle College will expand its concurrent enrollment program to Bellmont High School in Decatur to allow students to take pre-calculus classes for Trine credit from their teachers. Bellmont pre-calculus teachers Michael Macke and Kent Arnold will serve as Trine adjunct professors.
“Trine University is proud to be a part of the school’s plan to offer challenging college-level learning opportunities to high school students,” said Kelly Stout, director of Trine University Middle College. “We are excited to move the academic experience of Trine University into even more areas of the northeast Indiana region.”
Trine currently has partnerships with Hamilton, Westview, Fremont and Lakewood Park Christian schools.
Trine University Middle College and its concurrent enrollment high schools adhere to standards established by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships. Courses satisfy requirements for the state’s Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma for high school graduates.
