Professor Kelly Trusty wins award

KSB Assistant Professor Kelly Trusty and her Association for Research in Nonprofit and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA)  Pracademics Section collaborators earned accolades this spring for their chronicled research, “Collaboration Between Practitioners and Academics: Defining the Pracademic Experience”. Their work was presented with the Best Paper Award at the 2016 Midwest Public Affairs Conference (MPAC), hosted by John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio on June 4, 2016. Award Committee Chair Michael Ford indicated that the paper was selected “because it broadly defined the importance of linking the work of academics with the real world.  Ours is a practical field, and the survey and interview work detailed in this paper defines the collaborative space as through the eyes of both practitioners and academics.  Its lessons are valuable to our field’s ongoing impact and relevance.”

Founding Ketner Fellows

The Ketner Fellows program was established in 2015 to honor and reflect the values of Ketner School of Business benefactor, inspiring leader and retail entrepreneur Ralph W. Ketner. Students pursuing a business major or minor who demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and positive influence are selected to become Ketner Fellows through an annual faculty nomination and application process. The Fellows volunteer their junior and senior years to polish their servant leadership skills, build business prowess and serve as leaders, mentors, and ambassadors throughout Ketner School of Business and the Trine community.
