Summary
The Program Director is responsible for leading the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program and ensuring the program provides students with a high-quality educational experience to prepare them to be excellent clinicians prepared for a growing and changing healthcare environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the ACOTE accreditation process for occupational therapy programs
- Support the progression and growth of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program
- Approve the OTD Program annual budgets
- Evaluate, mentor, and foster the development of academic and clinical faculty
- Guide OTD program assessment and the utilization of data to improve instructional quality
- Implement and manage the policies and procedures of the OTD Program
- Develop long-term plans for the growth and development of the occupational therapy program
- Lead and facilitate OTD Advisory Board and its meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
- The ideal candidate will have experience with OTD program development, administration, and ACOTE accreditation
- An earned, doctoral degree from an accredited university
- An occupational therapist licensed in the state of Indiana with an understanding of and record of excellence in contemporary clinical practice
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a full-time academic appointment
- Proven effective leadership and management of curriculum, budgets, and personnel in an educational setting
