'Power of the Purse' women's program set for Nov. 5

OCT. 26 -- A women’s leadership initiative called “Power of the Purse” will be held on Trine’s campus from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5 in Best Hall 229. The “Power of the Purse” offers programs and projects to advance and improve the personal, economic and professional status of women.

Danielle Bash, a Trine alumna, will be the guest speaker for this event. Bash graduated from Trine in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in business management, then went on to get a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University. Bash is a Foreign Service officer for United States Agency for International Development (USAID). She has served in Dhaka, Bangladesh (2013 to 2015) and earlier this year began serving in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Bash will be speaking about her global experiences and share strategies of empowerment needed to foster academic success and personal and professional growth.

Refreshments will be served and this event will count as a CHAT event for Trine students. There will be an opportunity to win a Vera Bradley or a Coach purse along with other door prizes.
