Local organization to host benefit dinner and silent auction

NOV. 4 -- A Trine University sorority will host a night of food, fun and philanthropy next week to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation.

Kappa Sigma Alpha sorority will hold its sixth annual Make A Wish Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10. Held in the Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center (UC) and Whitney Commons, the event will feature a Disney “When You Wish Upon A Star” theme.

The silent auction, which will be located just outside of Whitney Commons in the UC, will include items such as a $100 gift card to Club Paradise, Thirty-One bags and products, dinner for four at Waterfront Bistro, free rounds at Zollner and Glendarin golf courses, and more.

Also at the event will be door prizes of various gift cards, a photo station and the opportunity to purchase a Make A Wish star for a minimum $1 donation.

“Kappa Sigma Alpha is very excited to be helping to raise money for such a great cause,” said Julia DeBelly, a Sylvania, Ohio, junior biomedical engineering student and Kappa Sigma Alpha’s philanthropy chair. “This is our favorite philanthropy event and we hope everyone can make it out for our benefit dinner and silent auction."

Meal prices for the dinner are $10.80 for adults, $5.40 for children 6 to 12, and free for children younger than 5. For Trine students without a meal plan, the cost is $7.60. There is no charge to bid in the silent auction.

All are invited to attend the Make A Wish Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction. For more information, contact DeBelly at
