Accounting firm partner speaks to Putra students
MELAKA, Malaysia — Students at Putra International College, an international partner of Trine University, heard from a partner with international accounting firm Crowe Horwath on Feb. 6.
Piong Yew Peng, chartered accountant at Crowe Horwath Malaysia, spoke to Trine students in AC 323 – Intermediate Accounting I and AC 405 – Advanced Accounting. Students in Putra’s accounting and finance diploma programs also were invited to attend.
“Mr. Peng related very well to the students and answered several questions regarding accounting as a career track and the work hours required day-to-day for an accountant, especially during peak seasons,” said Michael Martin, instructor at Trine’s Melaka, Malaysia, education center. “He provided the students helpful advice on how to stay relevant by keeping informed of important accounting rule changes and taking advantage of continuing education.”
Peng was presented with a certificate and a copy of the latest Trine magazine.
