Marriott Hotels
Grapevine, Texas

Cody Dombrowski had searched for internship opportunities in the hospitality industry, knowing he was looking for a career in that field. He was excited to get a call from the largest hotel company in the world to work at the Gaylord Texan, just outside of Dallas.

"When I originally got the job I knew I was going to be in a new city and I had to figure out how I was going to adapt in an environment I had never really thought of as a large hospitality hub," he said. "When I got there, I found that it didn’t really matter where in the country people were on vacation — the experience that I could create working for Marriott was more important."

"I got to work alongside some of the heads of departments such as Human Resources and Food and Beverage, and my own personal mentor was the front office manager. After a summer in Dallas I had the opportunity to apply for a full-time position, which I will start in September at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, Florida."
