Surgical Technology Admission Process

Trine University admits applicants based on scholastic achievement and academic potential; selection is made without regard to race, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation or age. Admission into Trine University is not an entitlement; attendance at Trine University is a privilege.

In addition to a completed application form, applicants must provide the following items:

  • Evidence of graduation from school or an acceptable score on the General Education Development (GED) examination or High School Equivalency (HSE).
  • Official high school transcripts must be sent from the originating high schools or official documentation from GED or HSE provided directly to the Office of Admissions or the admission counselor of the Brooks College of Health Professions.
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Transfer students must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary schools they attended. Official transcripts must be sent directly to the Office of Admission or the admission counselor of the education center they plan to attend.
  • Transfer credit may be awarded for general education courses.
  • Advanced Placement credit may be awarded for specific general education courses.
  • The Surgical Technology program does not accept transfer credit for SUR courses.
  • The Surgical Technology program does not accept credit toward program completion from experiential learning.

1. Complete an application for admission to the program
The Surgical Technology application is free and there is no essay required. 

2. Send official transcripts
Submit your high school transcript and transcripts from any community college or university you attended to:

3. Submit an enrollment deposit upon acceptance
Applicants who are offered admission must submit a $150 enrollment deposit to confirm their acceptance and hold their seat in the fall cohort. The deposit is applied toward first semester tuition and is non-refundable after May 1.
