Certificate in Nursing Informatics

The American Academy for Colleges of Nursing (AACN) has identified a national need to fill established and emerging nursing roles requiring educational preparation at the master’s level. The current demand for nurses with training in nursing informatics far outstrips the supply. The Certificate in Nursing Informatics prepares a nurse for roles such as clinical nurse analyst, chief information officer, informatics nurse, and health informatics specialist.

These certificates are available to nurses that possess a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Should the BSN nurse wish to purse the master's degree of nursing (MSN) at Trine within three years of completion of the certificate, credit for these courses will be awarded as part of the MSN program after successful completion of NRS 5101.
