Guided by faculty with engineering work experiences from industry leading companies such as Pfizer, Shell Oil, and Koch industries with doctorates from Yale, Rice, Michigan State and Wayne State Universities, chemical engineering students benefit from a truly exceptional experience. The department faculty ensure students obtain the skills and preparation needed to be successful in their future professional and academic careers.
From the start of their time at Trine, Chemical Engineering students are immersed in the close-knit atmosphere of the program. Students are exposed to numerous plant trips, professional and academic speakers, and are paired with an industrial mentor. In addition, all seniors are given the opportunity to attend the AIChE National Conference. 100% of 2015 and 2016 graduates* have industry-related work experience through professional internships or co-ops prior to graduation.

Living Learning Communities
Trine University offers interest-specific Living Learning Communities (LLCs) where students live together in a dedicated area of the Larry and Judy Reiners Residence Hall and Stadium Hall. The Women in Engineering LLC is for first-year majors in the ASOET, and offers opportunities for team-building, mentoring and social activities. Find out more on the LLC page.
