The Jim and Joan Bock Biomedical Engineering Department at Trine University hosted
BME Industry Day on Thursday, April 12.
About 65 students participated in the event, with guest speakers discussing opportunities within the biomedical engineering field.
Speakers included Michael Conrad, who is head of Customer Service and Human Resources at Precision Medical Technologies; Adam Griebel, a senior research engineer at Fort Wayne Metals; and Sandy May and Tammy Siemers from the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University.
The event was sponsored by the Employment Resource Center, the Jim and Joan Bock Biomedical Engineering Department, and Trine’s chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society.
Taleb Al-theanat works in the energy sector and is seeing that industry being transformed by artificial intelligence, renewable energy and evolving market dynamics.
Alence Poudel had a strong civil engineering background but saw the need for wider expertise in his work. Seeing missed opportunities to use data to solve increasingly complex infrastructure challenges, Alence enrolled in Trine University’s Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program.
Sabina Minta-Jacobs enrolled in Trine University’s Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) program to gain expertise in areas relevant to her field.
