Trine University received more than $22,000 in grants from the Steuben County Community
Foundation at the foundation’s annual meeting Aug. 9 in Club Z inside the MTI Center.
Steven Nicolet, director of annual giving, accepted checks totaling $22,341 from funds designated to Trine and managed by the foundation from Jennifer Danic, president and CEO of the foundation. Some of the funds are designated for student scholarships, while others will support the Trine Fund.
The foundation awarded more than $300,000 to more than 50 local nonprofits at the event.
Lauren Hillin, a biology student on the pre-med track at Trine University, gained important research skills in her summer internship at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Trine University’s Franks School of Education (FSOE) has continued its streak of perfect employment, with a record number of graduates in the Class of 2026 securing a teaching job or attending graduate school.
Trine University student Julia Benham participated in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) this summer, gaining hands-on research experience at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
