Two Trine University civil engineering majors have received $5,000 scholarships from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Education Foundation.
Derek Miller of Shipshewana, Indiana, and Quinten Prieur of Constantine, Michigan, each received AISC/Associated Steel Erectors of Chicago Scholarships. They were among eight students who received that particular scholarship.
The AISC Education Foundation awarded more than $138,000 to full-time juniors, seniors and master’s students in civil engineering, architectural engineering, construction engineering, construction management and architecture programs within the United States.
To be eligible for the AISC/Associated Steel Erectors of Chicago Scholarships, students had to be U.S. citizens and be enrolled full-time in civil engineering or architectural engineering programs in Illinois or Indiana.

The Trine University Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is hosting their second annual car show on Saturday, Sept. 14, from noon to 5 p.m. This event will take place in the Best Hall parking lot across from the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.
Trine University plans to welcome nearly 15,000 students across its campuses, education centers and online this fall.
Larry Garatoni, Board President of Career Academy Network of Public Schools, an Education One Charter School Network, has been appointed to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, as announced by Governor Eric J. Holcomb in June.
