Trine podcast looks at South Bend Cubs employee’s role

Patrick FoustThe Performance Center operations manager of the South Bend Cubs talks about working as a minor-league baseball employee in the newest episode of Trine University’s Center for Sports Studies podcast.

Patrick Foust, a Trine Sport Management alumnus, is in his second season as the full-time operations manager with the Cubs. In his role, Foust is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the performance center, including scheduling team and non-team events. The 1st Source Bank Performance Center features batting cages and a full weight room, and is the workout facility for Cubs players, but cages can also be rented by the general public.

Foust also explains how his multiple jobs and internships in college helped to prepare him for his full-time role with the Cubs.

CE senior trip covers cement plant, lock, bridge project

Nine Trine University seniors from the Reiners Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, accompanied by three department faculty, took part in a senior trip to southern Indiana that included visits to a cement plant, a lock on the Ohio River and a project connecting Interstate 69 with a future bridge into Kentucky.
