For the first time in many years, Trine University will hold a fall Commencement ceremony.
It will easily be the largest such fall event in the university’s history, rivaling
all but the most recent May Commencement ceremonies in size.
Eight hundred sixty-six members of the Class of 2023 will march across the stage of
the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic Recreation Center on Saturday, Dec.
16, to receive their degrees, with well over 3,000 guests expected to attend.
The ceremony will honor students earning master’s degrees through Trine University’s
College of Graduate and Professional Studies.
“Trine University’s master’s degree programs have greatly expanded in size over the
last few years, thanks to a combination of curriculum that meets industry needs and
our commitment to offer programming in a format that works best for our students,”
said Keirsten Eberts, vice president of online and international studies.
“As a result, we’ve reinstated a fall Commencement ceremony in order to properly honor
and celebrate these graduates for their hard work and dedication. We are proud of
everyone who has earned their degree and wish each graduate the best as they advance
in their career and join the ranks of Trine alumni.”
The Commencement ceremony begins at 2 p.m. Trine University also will celebrate the
graduates with a hooding ceremony and luncheon in Hershey Hall at 11 a.m.
Neil Sharma, M.D., president of the Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute, will
give the address. Sharma also will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree
from the university during the ceremony.
Fall Commencement will be livestreamed at vimeo.com/event/3935072.
