SOUTH BEND — Staff from Education One, Trine University’s charter school authorizer,
joined officials from the Paramount Schools of Excellence for a ribbon-cutting July
14 at the new Paramount School of Excellence South Bend.
Located in the former Tarkington Elementary School building, the new public charter
school serves students K-6 and will open its doors to more than 300 students in August.
“I am personally looking forward to continuing to see the exciting and innovative
ways Paramount School of Excellence South Bend will one-up themselves in the coming
school year,” said Lindsay Omlor, executive director of charter schools at Education
One.
“The mission of Paramount Schools of Excellence is to empower all students to persevere
and achieve academic success in an environment of excitement, inclusion and community
collaboration. Their name truly depicts who they are as an organization.”
Founded in 2010, Paramount Schools use an integrated research-based curriculum to
maximize each child’s potential against measurable standards. Every student has academic
performance goals with the expectation of improvement in each content area.
Paramount is recognized as a national Blue Ribbon School and has received an A rating
from the Indiana Department of Education for the past nine years.
