The Indiana Supreme Court will travel to Trine University in Steuben County on Wednesday,
Sept. 27.
The Court will hold oral argument in WEOC, Inc., et al. v. Niebauer (22A-CT-1869), a civil case concerning responsibility of businesses that serve alcohol
when people they served later injure someone else. This will be the 50th time the
Court has heard an argument on the road since 1994.
The Court holds oral arguments at the State House in Indianapolis and occasionally
schedules arguments outside the capital. Traveling oral arguments allow students,
the press and the public in other areas of the state the opportunity to see the work
of the Court.
This argument will take place in the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts on the campus
of Trine University at 500 W. Maumee St., Angola, at 10 a.m. (Eastern). The 40-minute
argument is open to the press and public. Available seating is on a first-come, first-served
basis. Those interested in attending will be required to enter through the doors from
the T. Furth Center’s main parking lot and go through security. Parking for guests
is available at the T. Furth Center (lot 8) as well as at Best Hall (lot 10) on the
corner of Oeder Avenue and University Avenue.
Nearly 500 students from the following schools are scheduled to attend:
- East Noble High School

The argument will be webcast live and archived on the Court’s website. The T. Furth
