The operations manager for the National Hockey League’s Chicago Blackhawks, Morgan
Petriko, talks about her career journey and the trade-offs of working in sports on
the newest episode of Trine University’s Center for Sports Studies podcast.
Petriko began her career working in college athletic administration before joining
the Blackhawks. Today she oversees daily and strategic management of the Fifth Third
Arena in Chicago, the Blackhawks’ practice center.
Her responsibilities include managing and developing her team, scheduling events at
the arena and assisting in long-term strategies for the venue’s expansion.
In the podcast, she discusses how being available to do anything and everything in
sports helped her along the way.
Produced through the Trine Broadcasting Network, the Trine Center for Sports Studies
podcast focuses on the business side of sports, including interviews with sports professionals
and current research in sports studies. Hosted by Center for Sports Studies director
