Bowersock named executive director of creative services at Trine

Travis BowersockTrine University has promoted Travis Bowersock to the new role of executive director of creative services, effective Nov. 10.

As executive director, Bowersock will lead the creative services team within the Office of University Marketing and Communications. He will oversee a team of graphic design, photography and videography professionals to continue to impact and elevate Trine University’s brand.

He joined Trine in 2022 as director of design.

“Travis has been a dedicated, successful lead steward and ambassador of the university’s visual brand identity and brand guidelines,” said Rachel Troutman, vice president for university marketing and communications. “He has ensured those guidelines are consistently applied and integrated into applications, projects and campaigns across Trine University, resulting in superior creative production by his entire team. I’m excited to see how he will connect the creative vision for the university to every project he will oversee in his expanded role!”

Bowersock came to Trine from Do It Best Corp. in Fort Wayne, where he had served as graphic design supervisor since 2015. In that role, he managed a team that included 10 graphic designers as well as other creative professionals to produce print, online, video and social media content.

He also helped guide and implement comprehensive review of private label packaging and the corporate brand.

Prior to working at Do It Best, Bowersock was advertising lead for ITT Exelis in Fort Wayne, where he led a team of designers to develop advertising campaigns for the company’s military and commercial products and services.

In addition to his work within University Marketing and Communications, Bowersock teaches the Graphic Design Fundamentals course for the university’s Ketner School of Business.

He holds a master’s degree in graphic design from the University of Saint Francis and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Indiana State University.

Members of Trine University’s student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), alongside faculty and students from the McKetta Department of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, brought hands-on science to life for more than 140 Girl Scouts during the recent STEM Expo hosted by Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana–Michiana.
