Trine University has named Tonya Bussema as its new student success coordinator.
“Tonya has been an asset to Trine as a student-centered and creative problem solver
who has a close eye on details,” said Tony Kline, Ph.D., vice president for academic
affairs. “In her new role focusing on student retention, we look forward to her using
her talents to support our student experience.”
As student success coordinator, Bussema will work with faculty and students to address
reported academic concerns.
Bussema joined Trine University as student affairs coordinator in 2023 and most recently
served as assistant director of student affairs.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in art and design from Alma College. Her background prior
to working at Trine includes serving as an art teacher as well as operating her own
photography business and working in marketing for G.W. Stroh Orchard in Angola.
