Trine University presented special Presidential Awards for Excellence in Performance to two longtime staff members during the Board of Trustees luncheon on May 2.

Gretchen Miller, senior vice president and chief of staff, was hailed by university President Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., as a leader and “a true force of dedication, compassion and excellence.”

“For 14 years, Gretchen has given her all to this university,” Dr. Brooks said. “Her steadfast commitment, her deep care for every student’s success and her tireless advocacy for our mission have left an enduring mark. She’s been more than a vice president—she’s been a mentor, a champion, and, for many, a constant source of inspiration.”

“Thank you for your leadership, your heart and your extraordinary service. You will always be part of the spirit of this university.”

Rod Olson, assistant vice president for campus operations, was honored for more than 20 years of service of the university. He will retire in August.

"His exceptional performance, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering work ethic have made a lasting impact on this university,” said Kayla Warren, senior vice president and chief financial officer. “Most importantly, his passion for our students shines through in everything he does. Thank you, Rod, for being an inspiring example of excellence and commitment."
