Trine University has launched Dual Advantage, a new program that gives undergraduate students multiple pathways to earn both a bachelor’s degree and an advanced degree in less time than completing both degrees separately.

Depending on the pathway, students may begin graduate-level coursework while completing their bachelor’s degree or pursue an accelerated direct-entry option that shortens the overall time required to complete both degrees.

“We’ve offered several of these opportunities for years, but Dual Advantage brings them together under one program so students and families can more easily understand and explore the options available,” said Kim Bennett, vice president for enrollment management at Trine.

“Dual Advantage is another way Trine University is creating value for students and families. By reducing the time it takes to complete multiple degrees, students can lower their overall educational costs and enter or advance in their careers sooner.”

Different pathways

Dual Advantage pathways are available across a variety of academic areas, providing students opportunities to accelerate their education in business, healthcare, engineering and computing, and law.

The Bachelor’s + Master’s pathway allows eligible students to begin graduate coursework while completing their undergraduate degree. Depending on the program and individual academic plan, students may earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in as little as four years.

Health Professions Direct Entry pathways allow students to shorten the time needed to complete an undergraduate degree at Trine’s Angola campus and a doctoral or master’s degree at the university’s Brooks College of Health Professions in Fort Wayne.

The Law pathway allows Trine students, working with one of the university’s select partner schools, to complete three years of undergraduate coursework at Trine before beginning law school, with the first year of law school fulfilling the remaining requirements for their bachelor's degree.
